Welcome to Digital Branding 101: Confessions of a Digital Brand Strategist!
Writing has always been a passion of mine, yet I have never allowed myself to explore the medium as a way to connect with my online audiences. You would think as a Digital Brand Strategist who teaching clients worldwide to tap into their God-given gifts that I would have done this a LONG time ago, but I did not.
Whelp! No need to dwell on the past. It's only upward from here!
Over my time working with various companies in many industries, I have come to find that there are common concerns amongst all owners when building out their brand online. Due to the online space being so vast, some of those common concerns are visibility, brand voice/appearance, and originality.
All very valid concerns when expanding in the online space, simply because it is so large with lots of other amazing humans who operate within similar zones of genius.
I have also come to recognize that in my industry I get to uncover some of the "not so sexy" parts of social media that does not often get discussed because it isn't fun and can be embarrassing to some business owners who feel they don't command the mediums.
Having experience in Accounting and Finance, I find that social media can be just like bookkeeping for small businesses. They know that it needs to be taken care of but there is hesitancy to hand it over for fear that something is wrong or they will be judged. Sounds far fetched? But it isn't!
In today's business climate, your social media presence is a major part of your overall marketing plan and in some ways can make or break your success.
